Cake smashes became popular a few years ago and continue to be one of my most requested sessions for children. Even older kids get in on the fun! I work with my clients to make sure the session goes as smoothly as possible. We want baby to be relaxed and engaged during the shoot. Most of the children can’t wait to dig into the cake and once they do, I sit back and take photos 🙂 At first they are not quite sure how to act and what to do since most of them are not familiar with the texture. But once they have their first try of a sweet cake, they have no problem figuring out the rest! Cake smashes can get pretty messy, so I make sure to have plenty of wipes and towels on hand to clean the baby and everyone else 🙂
