Planning Birthday Photo Sessions
Can you believe it’s already been a year since your newest family member arrived? At Yellow Lollipop Photography, I have wonderful setups for birthday photo sessions. There are various backdrops at my studio that you can choose from based on your party theme. Parents usually bring a few different outfits for their child to wear,and I have some in my studio as well.
I also have many props that can be incorporated into the photo session. Although I don’t offer a cake smash option because of food allergies, I do have faux cakes we can include in the pictures. These look very real and are a great option if you want your child photographed with a cake. If you have any questions regarding what I have, just ask! I am more than happy to help you prepare birthday photo sessions ahead of time. It makes for smooth sailing on the day itself.
Timing of Birthday Photo Sessions
Wondering if the one year birthday photo session takes place on the first birthday? It’s completely up to you. Some parents prefer to do the photo shoot a few weeks before the first birthday. Others choose to do it as close to the birthday as possible. And some parents prefer to do it after the birthday. They all have their advantages. If you choose to do the photo shoot before the birthday, you can use the pictures for invitations, or display the pictures at the party. Doing the pictures as close to the actual birthday really allows you to capture your child right as they are at their one-year milestone. Why might a parent wait until after the first birthday? Some parents want their child to be standing or walking completely on their own.
