Michelle reached out to me in December last year, expecting her 3rd child. She already had 2 older girls and was now awaiting a little boy. The girls were so excited to be photographed with their little brother (and partly because they were able to miss half a day of school :). Family photos with 3 children are not an easy task but they were all super stars. I think those family images are my favorite ones from Tate’s session. Of course we could not forget Piper, a 1 year old black lab, who has quickly become Tate’s best friend. She was a little shy but warmed up quickly and even even gave Tate a kiss on a nose.
Tate was a really good baby during the session, although he did not like to have his diaper off. After few tries it was pretty apparent that he is much happier with a diaper on, and so we obliged. I always tell the parents that no matter what we have planned for the baby during the session, when that time comes, and the baby is not happy, we will follow his cues and do what makes him happy and comfortable. I would never force the baby into a position or a set up that clearly causes him stress and discomfort, and I never met a parent who would not agree.
During the session, Michelle mentioned that Tate was a rainbow baby and I just had to pay tribute to that by letting him hold a little rainbow. I am so happy that Michelle had chosen me to be her Summit Newborn Photographer. I had such a wonderful time photographing Tate and his older sibling . What a beautiful family they make.
