Choosing colors for your newborn photography session
Choosing colors for your newborn photography session is not as easy task for parents. Lucky for them I have hundreds of props and fabrics in my NJ newborn photography studio. Before the newborn session , I send out a questionnaire and ask my clients to pick a few colors to help narrow down our choices. I set up the studio and a few props before our newborn session so that the newborn photo session goes smoothly.
Photo Shoot Color Scheme
Choosing colors for your newborn photography session and having a color palette for your newborn photography session is very important. I want every image in your gallery to compliment each other. When choosing your colors, I recommend:
- Coordinating with your home decor . You want your images to seamlessly go with the aesthetics of your home and not distract from it.
- Picking colors that match baby’s nursery. In my newborn photography questionnaire I ask parents to send me pictures of the nursery so I can better understand their sense of style.
- If you are still not sure what colors to choose, stick with neutrals or creams. They are timeless and will match every area in your home. Besides baby’s skin looks great on any neutral color. Check out some classic newborn images HERE
Most popular color choices
Most popular color scheme for newborn girls are creams, pinks and purples. With so many different shades of these colors , I can make each session as unique as your baby is. You can see examples of those colors below or visit my previous blog posts for more images HERE. For boys, most requested colors are creams, blues, browns and grays. Every so often I get a request to use dark , bold colors and I love when that happens. I love dark plums, mustard, hunter green and even black. If you are an adventured type of person I definitely recommend trying one of these colors for your newborn photography session.
