Finding a newborn photographer for your little one is such an important step as you prepare for baby’s arrival! This family was searching for newborn photography near their home in Philadelphia. Since my New Jersey photography studio is only about an hour away, they came across me in their search and decided I was the photographer for them. I’m so glad they did!
This newborn photo session was a family affair. Mom, Dad, and big sister Suri all made it to the studio with little Niko for his baby pictures. Usually the siblings of newborns are toddlers, but Suri was in third grade, and old enough to be safe and responsible with her little brother. No need for composite shots in this session!
Linda really wanted a potato sack pose and the photo below in my little white bed. We managed both, even though Niko wasn’t sure he wanted to cooperate! This little cutie wasn’t sleepy at all, so we maximized the props poses rather than putting him on a beanbag. It happens sometimes that baby is a little cranky during a newborn photo shoot, but I can almost always work around that. I simply swaddle them and try other poses. Basically, I do whatever they’ll let me do! It’s rarely necessary to reschedule a session just because baby doesn’t want to sleep.
This was such a cute family and I loved being their newborn photographer! We worked with this little guy rather than against him, and managed to get some truly beautiful images.
