I love being a Newborn Photography Morris County NJ expert! And I especially love it when the newborn I’m photographing is a family member! This little sweetheart, Marcus, is my nephew’s son. He was born on the very last day of 2018. I can’t think of a better way to end the year than by welcoming a brand new life! From now on, the whole family knows that very New Year’s Eve we will be celebrating little Marcus’ birthday.
I’ve been planning for this session for a while now since I did the maternity session for my nephew (Milosz) and his wife (Mariana) a couple of months ago. I also did a Fresh 48 session in the hospital right after Marcus was born.
For Marcus’ session I had so many ideas for setups I wanted to try and shots I wanted to get. This session was almost five hours long–and I still didn’t want it to stop! I remember telling them that once the baby is born, they better move in with me for a week. I invest a lot of money into updating my props and accessories and I was ready to try all of these new items on Marcus. We did all kinds of different pictures, including composites and family shots, and they all turned out so well. Marcus didn’t want to sleep at first, but once he nodded off he was a total champ. He even smiled for me!
We chose mostly earth tones for this newborn photography session, plus a beautiful, jewel-toned blue, and mixed in some black-and-white photos for fun. Mariana wanted a froggy pose and although a difficult one, we managed to get it. Since mu nephew loves fishing we’ve decided to do a fishing set up with Marcus as well. I’ve purchased a little fisherman outfit and photographed Marcus on the old wooden bed with a layer resembling a fishing net. The set turned out so cute and Milosz loved the final product.

It’s always fun to provide to props and accessories for your newborn session from some of the best newborn photography vendors in the world. My favorite that I used for Marcus baby photography session’are: Riley’s Mom Makes Hats, Lavender Blossoms, Luneberry and Farm Girl Knitting.
As if five hours in the studio wasn’t enough, I’m also doing a lifestyle session with Milosz, Mariana, and Marcus next week at their home. I just can’t get enough! Seriously, being a newborn photographer and having a newborn in the family is like a dream come true 🙂
