Samhita’s Birthday Photo Session

As a Secaucus NJ children photographer I loved doing this two year birthday session for little Samhita. She was such a cutie! I’ve done two other shoots for this family so it was wonderful to see them in the studio again.

Mom wanted a lot of dresses for this photo session–and after seeing them I can understand why! All of the dresses we used were made in India, so are very colorful and elaborate. We didn’t manage quite a million–but we got to use four or five, which is quite a lot! I loved the bright colors and beautiful, intricate patterns.

Samhita wasn’t sure about taking pictures at first. She cried for the first fifteen minutes of the session. Fortunately, my experience as a children’s photographer has prepared me for this kind of thing. I have lots of tricks up my sleeve to help little ones feel more comfortable in the studio. Everything from toys and treats to games and silly face. In this case, tickling her with a feather duster stopped the tears and brought out the smiles!

We used lots of florals in our backgrounds. They worked well with our many pretty dresses and made this session extra sweet and girly. As a mom to three boys, I love doing girly sessions!
