Session Planning
What a beautiful baby girl! She and her family live in Bucks County PA, about an hour away from my New Jersey photography studio. After looking through my portfolio, mom decided that it was worth the trip to come and see me!
I usually do newborn photography sessions about two weeks or less after baby is born. This little one was a bit older at five weeks. She still did a great job for me though. She was very sweet and sleepy, and even smiled for me a couple of times. I loved her beautiful dark hair and long lashes, and she has such a pretty skin tone too. Those rosy, chubby cheeks are the best!
Session Details
We used several different colors for this newborn photography shoot. Our session started very neutral, with soft creams and pinks. Then we ventured into blues and purples. Finally, we went all out and incorporated a lovely rainbow of color with flowers. The result was so pretty!
Mom wanted only swaddled poses. As you can see, it’s possible to get a nice variety of pictures even with just swaddles. I keep plenty of swaddling blankets and props at my studio in many different colors. With these tools I can create exactly the look you’re wanting. We also did some composite photos. These are a great, safe way to add variety to your newborn photos.
