I first met Lucas when I did his newborn session. As you can see from the photos, that was a while ago. It was great to have him in the studio again for a child photography session! Mom wasn’t able to make the drive this time so Grandma brought him instead.
Lucas’s Child Photography Session
Mom wanted clean and simple set ups with blues, whites, and grays. I threw a little green in there too, which I think worked well. It’s a really nice color scheme for child photography, especially for a boy. There’s enough color to keep things interesting, and it’s still strong without being overwhelming. I think the light colors were perfect for Lucas’s features as well.
Lucas was such a chill little guy for me. Very relaxed and totally fine to let me play around with the camera and try out different poses with him. He is just the cutest, and so expressive. He loved to show me what he could do with his mouth and tongue. And you’ve got to love those big blue eyes.
We used a couple different backdrops for variety, and plenty of soft, cozy textures in our props and outfits. Fluffy blankets and thick yarns are an excellent choice for a child photography session. They reflect the comfort parents try to provide for their children, and of course make your kiddos more comfortable while photos are being taken.
I love doing child photography sessions. I enjoy using color and fun, whimsical touches in my photos, and baby and toddler pictures are the perfect place for that. Take a look at my child gallery if you’d like to see more examples of my style. And of course, please contact me if you have any questions. I would love to hear from you and help you plan the perfect session for your little one!
