Somerset County Newborn Photo Session

Jennifer had booked her Somerset county newborn photo session a few months before delivering Noah.  She wanted to incorporate her two older children as well as some family photos into the newborn session. Sibling photos are always special and I was happy we were able to get a couple of really great ones. My posing of siblings depends very much on their age. If the older sibling is just a toddler I do not allow them to hold the baby but rather will position the baby in their arms, laying on the ground, or do a composite of two photos: one of the baby on its own, and the other of a toddler in the same setting. The magic of photoshop 🙂 Fortunately Noah’s brother and sister were older and we trusted them with being careful holding Noah. They were both super sweet and loving on him.

Noah  did not want to sleep during the session. He was too busy looking around and checking out my studio:)  Since he was wiggling a lot I decided to swaddle him for the majority of the shots, letting him relax and fall asleep. It’s amazing what a tight swaddle, warmth, and a shooshing machine can do! After he fell asleep we were able to finish the session and even get the potato sack pose Jennifer had on her wish list.

Jennifer loved her entire gallery and I am so happy I was able to give her such special memories. This Somerset county newborn photo session was a success 🙂
