To say that I was a little excited to do this Union County New Jersey triplets newborn session is an understatement! I was jumping for joy 🙂 I love photographing babies and every time I get an inquiry for multiples it feels like a treat. Twins are amazing to photograph but when you get triplets in the studio, it’s a completely different ball game.
Alyssa and Mike are one of the sweetest clients I have photographed. I did Alyssa’s maternity session back in September and she went into labor shortly after. Her babies were tiny and had to stay in the NICU for a few weeks to get all strong and healthy.
I prepared for this session for a few weeks, trying to find matching outfits and bonnets, creating different set ups, and making sure I had enough variety in case we needed to change our plans. I always have more than enough on hand so if the baby is not comfortable in a prop or with an accessory, I can easily switch it around. Being flexible and patient is huge when it comes to newborns. You just have to go with the flow!
When I first saw Elias, Adelina and Liliana, I fell in love right away. I was a little scared of what to expect with three little ones, but they were seriously the cutest, tiniest, most perfect little munchkins! I hired an assistant to help me and we sent Alyssa and Mike off to the sitting room so they could relax and enjoy themselves while we took care of their precious babies. The babies were such a happy bunch! They smiled every few minutes and they ”talked” the whole time they were here! Absolutely adorable!
I started off with single shots of each baby and tried to recreate the same setup and poses in case Alyssa wanted to put the three photos side by side. Mommy liked lavender, peach, and blue. It just so happened that I had the same posing fabric in all three colors! (Yes, I am a prop-aholic.) After their single shots I moved to the basket shots on the floor with all three of them. It was amazing to see how they cuddled together so naturally…Elias in the middle, hugging his sisters, so sweet and loving .
I am so happy I got a chance to photograph Elias, Adelina and Liliana. I think its every photographer’s dream to photograph triplets and I got my dream come true! Thank you Alyssa and Mike and congratulations! I can’t wait to see all of you again soon!
