Katie and I met about 8 years now, while she was working at Creme De La Creme in Bridgewater, a preschool my kids attended at the time. JP, her future husband, worked there as well. My kids grew up and moved to other schools and Katie and I have lost track of each other. Fast forward to 2016, Katie’s sister booked me for her newborn session! It’s amazing how small the world really is!
I had Katie’s session scheduled for mid November, but little Miss Ellie arrived almost 4 weeks ahead of schedule. She was in such a hurry to join the family that Katie barely made it to the hospital on time. It’s obvious that Ellie already knows what she wants and when she wants it. She was such a champ during the entire session that we were able to do all the set ups I planned plus parents shots in under two hours.
I knew that Katie’s baby shower theme was Under the Sea so I thought it would be great to do a mermaid set up. Since I am not a big fan of crocheted mermaid tails, I’ve decided to make the outfit myself. The results were better then I expected and everyone loved the finished product.
Being a chef, JP wanted a custom set up representing his line of work and I was more then happy to do it. In order to make it look both cute and elegant, I used real vegetables and food around Ellie. Katie brought a chef’s hat which completed the set up. I got to say it came out amazing!
I loved photographing Ellie at her newborn photo session and I enjoyed catching up with Katie and JP. Since they have selected my Milestone Collection I get to see them again in just few months! Can’t wait to see little Ellie again 🙂
